William R. Allen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Exchange Bank is pleased to announce that John C. Childs, Jr., was elected by the Board of Directors to serve as the Interim President and CEO for Exchange Bank and Exchange Bankshares, Inc.

John joined Exchange Bank in 2012 as Senior Vice President and Lending Officer and has over 45 years of banking knowledge and experience. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Senior Lending Officer in 2013. He was also elected in 2016 to the Board of Directors for Exchange Bank and Exchange Bankshares, Inc.

John received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from University of Georgia. He also is a graduate of Georgia Banking School and holds a post baccalaureate degree from Graduate School of Banking of the South, Louisiana State University.

John is actively involved in the community and has served as director and treasurer of Jones County/Gray Chamber of Commerce, past president and founding member of The Rotary Club of Jones County, Affordable Housing Committee of PLAN, several leadership positions within Gray United Methodist Church and Gideons International.

John and his wife, Joan Dismer Childs, reside in Gray and they have five children and eight grandchildren.
