Managing Director, Georgia Forward-Young Gamechangers Position Available

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of this position is to plan, lead and implement the programs of Georgia Forward, including the Young Gamechangers program and the Georgia Forward Forum. Work is performed under the supervision of the GMA Director of Community & Economic Development.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Plan, organize and execute the Young Gamechangers leadership action program and the annual GeorgiaForward Forum event.
Provide primary staff support to the GeorgiaForward Board of Directors
Oversee and develop fundraising programs, in concert with the GeorgiaForward Board of Directors, to support the work and programs of GeorgiaForward
Prepare and submit a proposed budget for timely approval by the GeorgiaForward Board of Directors prior to the start of each fiscal year
Identify and prepare grant applications to support the work and programs of GeorgiaForward
Receive, review, prepare and process all correspondence on behalf of GeorgiaForward
Maintain all files and records of GeorgiaForward including minutes of all meetings
Coordinate activities of GeorgiaForward including meetings of the Board of Directors
Establish and maintain administrative and financial procedures for internal and external use consistent with policies of GMA and those established by the GeorgiaForward Board of Directors
Providing administrative oversight for all monies received and expended on behalf of GeorgiaForward
Review, analyze and recommend modifications and revisions to documents used by GeorgiaForward for its programs
Prepare and designate official forms to be used in administering GeorgiaForward programs in accordance with direction from GMA and the GeorgiaForward Chair or the Board of Directors
Engage 300+ Young Gamechanger Alumni in the work and fundraising of GeorgiaForward through continued communication and ongoing alumni events
Seek partnerships across the state to strengthen the efforts of GeorgiaForward
Market and promote GeorgiaForward programs throughout the state
Oversee social media, public relations and communication efforts
Write and produce an Annual Report and other marketing materials as needed
Identify, recruit and engage volunteers to help move the mission of the organization forward
Support the Chair of the GeorgiaForward Board of Directors in organizing and conducting, at a minimum, quarterly board meeting
Performs other related duties as required.
Operates motor vehicle to conduct work activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the Georgia Municipal Association’s and GeorgiaForward’s purpose and mission.
Knowledge of budgeting.
Knowledge of local government, private and non-profit organizations’ functions and operations.
Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and interpretation and skill in conducting research, collecting data, performing data analysis, and reporting research findings.
Ability to prepare effective reports and documentation to report research findings.
Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
Skill in utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, communications, Internet, or other software programs.
Skill in oral and written communication to include public presentations.
Skills, knowledge, willingness and ability to plan, coordinate, and participate in fund raising efforts
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, non-profit administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred); three years of experience in association or non-profit organization management or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to operate a variety of automated office equipment including telephone, computer, printer, facsimile scanner and copier. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for light work.
DATA COMPREHENSION: Requires the ability to compare and or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things which may include administrative forms and reports, budgets, photographs, newspaper layouts and other materials.
INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION: Requires the ability to speak with and/or signal people to convey or exchange administrative information, including giving assignments and/or directions to co-workers or assistants as well as communicating with elected officials and the general public.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Requires ability to read a variety of managerial and administrative documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures. Requires the ability to write reports and essays with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with poise, voice control, and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice such as in public speaking situations before the Gwinnett Municipal Association Board.
INTELLIGENCE: Requires the ability to learn and understand relatively complex managerial, marketing and public relations principles and techniques; to understand departmental policies and procedures; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; and to acquire and be able to expound on knowledge of topics related to primary occupation.
VERBAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, such as in a public speaking situation, to explain procedures, and to follow verbal and written instructions.
NUMERICAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add and subtract; multiply and divide totals; determine percentages; calculate decimals; and interpret graphs.
FORM/SPATIAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to visually inspect items for proper length, width, and shape using job related equipment.
MOTOR COORDINATION: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using automated office equipment.
MANUAL DEXTERITY: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, automated office equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting motion or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
COLOR DIFFERENTIATION: May require the ability to discern color.
INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with and relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be able to adapt to and perform under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION: Requires the ability to talk, express, or exchange ideas by means of spoken words and/or hear and perceive nature of sounds by ear.
