Buck Roetman will be bringing his Wild Horse Aviation show to the Thunder Over Georgia Air Show Sept. 28 and 29.

Get ready for his exciting, high energy aerobatic performance! Amid the smoke and the roar of his 375+ horsepower Lycoming engine, you’ll see Roetman perform amazing maneuvers in the sky that will leave you gasping in awe. One of his favorite parts of the show is the Ribbon Cut, performed at about 200 mph less than 20 feet above the ground. You won't want to miss this performance!

Roetman has been flying for more than four decades. He has flown more than 155 different types of airplanes – from Cubs to corporate jets – resulting in more than 18,000 hours of flight time.

An air show performer since 1998, Roetman currently flies a modified Pitts S2S. The airplane was built in 1994 and has been slowly modified to its current status as one of the premier airshow biplanes in the world. It differs from most planes in that is has a Lycoming AEIO-540.

Over the years, he has accumulated several Federal Aviation Administration certificates. He is typed in Learjet, Westwind, Citation, Astra, CJ and Hawker airframes. In addition, he is an airframe and power plant mechanic with an inspection authorization and is an aerobatic competency examiner for the International Council of Air Shows.

Buck’s extensive fabricating experience started in the racing industry. He started at the local short track and progressed to winning championships with a car of his own design, in Sports Car Club of America competition. He has also worked on, has done research and development, and driven for numerous SCCA, International Motor Sports Association, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing and Indy car teams.  These experiences have helped him in the building, modifying and fabricating of over 10 complete airplanes and numerous modifications on other aircraft.

Roetman is currently the president of Wild Horse Aviation, a company that specializes in aircraft acquisition, maintenance, fabrication and export. It is based in Luthersville, Georgia. Roetman has been married to his high school sweetheart, Candice Roetman, for more than 40 years. They have three children, two dogs and two cats together.
