Coliseum Medical Centers to Offer Seminar on Managing AFib August 14th

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Monday, August 12th, 2019

Coliseum Medical Centers will offer a free seminar on managing atrial fibrillation (more commonly known as AFib) and reducing your risk of stroke. The seminar will feature cardiologist Dr. Justin McCullough and will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Building C, Suite 120 of Coliseum Medical Centers.

AFib is an irregular heartbeat that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. While the condition often has no symptoms, some patients do experience heart palpitations, which feel like a racing heart or heart flutter. People with AFib are five times more likely to have a stroke than those without it.

Dr. McCullough said, “It’s important to learn the appropriate steps to take if you or someone close to you begins to show signs of AFib.  Uncontrolled AFib can have serious consequences, so a seminar such as this can actually save someone’s life!”

To register for this seminar, call (478) 746-4646 or visit the Classes & Events section of www.ColiseumHealthSystem.com.
