GEICO Announces over One Million Dollar Fundraising Result to United Way of Central Georgia

Geico presented United Way of Central Georgia with a check for $1,082,211.07 this afternoon. This is the sixth straight year Geico has hit the one million dollar mark with their United Way fundraising campaign. For the 15th straight year, Geico is the largest contributor to United Way of Central Georgia. The check was presented during the lunch hour with many of Geico’s 5,700 employees and United Way contributors present.

“Geico has demonstrated their giving spirit in our community every year by being such a large contributor to United Way of Central Georgia,” said George McCanless, President and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia. “We are so grateful to be able to help so many members of our community because of the funds raised by the many employees at Geico Macon.”

United Way of Central Georgia is a leading funder of health and human service organizations that have a measurable impact in fourteen Central Georgia counties and impact the lives of one in four local people annually. The annual campaign supports 43 programs along with 29 partner agencies.
