Springdale Elementary School has been recognized with a Keep America Beautiful Award. The school was recognized for its Eagle Recyclers Club at the organization’s National Awards Luncheon in Baltimore.

“It is important for our youth to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment,” said principal Dr. Cami Hamlin. “Our students want to end littering and improve recycling so their future will be clean and green. Students lead and share in the responsibility of contributing to the vision of sustainability.”

The group was recognized with a Youth & Education Award for working with stakeholders to help make the community better environmentally. Springdale Elementary is located at 4965 Northside Drive.
