About the Film

Denmark, Drama, 85 Minutes, Rated R, 2018, Directed by Gustav Möller

“The Guilty” is an unrelenting Danish thriller and international hit that’s scheduled to be remade as a Hollywood feature starring Jake Gyllenhaal. In this award-winning film, a police officer is demoted and confined to desk work at the emergency switchboard. But his monotonous work quickly becomes tense when he’s contacted by a panicked woman claiming to be kidnapped by her husband. Restricted to the police station, he’s forced to rely on other officers to find the victim while mustering every ounce of his intuition and skill. Battling the clock and personal demons, he learns things aren’t what they seem.
