Warner Robins Increases Labor Force in October

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Warner Robins increased their labor force and added jobs in October.
 
All major indicators still remain positive for the year.
 
“This holiday season we have much to be thankful for,” Butler said. “The job market has been very robust this year. Our communities continue to grow and prosper.”
 
The October unemployment rate rose to 4.4. That’s down 0.1 percent from the previous month but down from 5.2 percent one year ago.
 
The labor force decreased in October by 593 to reach 84,637 total members.  The number has dropped by 306 over the past 12 months.
 
Warner Robins lost 318 employed residents in October, bringing its total to 81,845. That number has grown by about 925 over the past year.  
 
Warner Robins saw jobs increase by 100 in October to reach 74,700. That keeps Warner Robins up 800 jobs for the year.
 
Initial claims for unemployment are up by about 275 percent for the month and are down by about 23 percent when compared to the same period a year ago.
