Macon Volunteer Clinic Welcomes Dr. Maryam Sedghi as New Medical Director

Macon Volunteer Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. Maryam Sedghi as its new Medical Director. Dr. Sedghi is a graduate of Shahid Beheshti University Med-ical School in Tehran, Iran, and completed her medical residency at Navicent Health in Macon. Dr. Sedghi is board certified by the American Board of Fami-ly Medicine since 2004 and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Sedghi served in private practice with Poplar Physicians and Family Medi-cine on Northside, both in Macon. Most recently Dr. Sedghi served as assis-tant professor at Mercer University School of Medicine.

Rita McCurdy, Executive Director, stated, “Macon Volunteer Clinic is so fortunate to add someone with Dr. Sedghi’s family practice expertise to our staff. As Medical Director, Dr. Sedghi will see patients, as well as en-sure overall excellence in care throughout the Clinic. Further, we look forward to her leadership as we work to expand the role of Medical Director to provide greater teaching oversight and hands-on learning opportunities for our Mercer Univ. School of Medicine student volunteers.”
