Visit Macon will host its annual meeting, Thursday, August 16 at the Mill Hill Community Arts Center at noon.  The annual meeting will include a tourism awards ceremony, year-end recap and preview of upcoming initiatives.
           
The 2018 Otis Hughes Tourism Spirit and B.J. Cain Top of the Line awards will be presented during the tourism awards ceremony. The Otis Hughes Tourism award is given to a person who has contributed significantly to the Macon tourism industry and has given unending time, talent and skill to support Macon’s tourism growth. The B.J. Cain Top of the Line award is presented to a person who works directly with a visitor at an attraction, restaurant and/or lodging property and goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide an exemplary experience for the visitor.
 
The program will feature a presentation from Lisa Love, Division Director for the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Tourism Division. She leads the positioning of Georgia as a top travel destination. The meeting will also include a performance by singer and songwriter, Louise Warren.
