Monday, August 6th, 2018

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp certified the results of the July 24, 2018 General Primary Runoff Election. All of Georgia’s 159 counties have provided the total votes cast to the state, and Kemp affirms that the returns are a true and correct tabulation. Official results are now accessible on the Secretary of State’s election night reporting website.

In the Republican runoff for Lieutenant Governor, Geoff Duncan maintained his lead over David Shafer by a margin of 1,597 votes. You can find a detailed report of votes cast, including the number of provisional ballots, here by selecting one of several report options on the right-hand side of the webpage.

Under O.C.G.A. § 21-2-495, a candidate may request a recount within two business days if the difference in votes between the winning candidate and second-place candidate is not more than one percent of the total votes cast in the race.
