“I appreciate the commitment of these distinguished attorneys and jurists to Mercer Law School and their willingness to become a part of our Board of Visitors,” said Dean Cathy Cox. “We’ve been graduating lawyers at Mercer for 145 years who are ready to practice and prepared to serve their communities. The knowledge, advice and support of these Board members will assure that we continue to meet the needs of today’s students, employers and the greater legal community for the next century.”

The Mercer Law School Board of Visitors provides advice to the dean and support to the Law School. The Board is specifically tasked to help strengthen and define the academic and strategic goals of Mercer Law School, to enhance the reputation of Mercer Law School, to assist in the recruitment of high-quality students, to assist the dean in efforts to graduate and place ethical, service-oriented, practice-ready legal professionals, and to assist in fundraising when appropriate to achieve these goals. The next meeting of the Board of Visitors will be held on Sept. 21.

“I am thrilled to be a part of an amazing Board of Visitors which is even stronger thanks to the willingness of these five terrific people to serve. The Law School’s Board of Visitors has adopted its first strategic plan which we will use to enhance the reputation and value of a Mercer Law School degree,” said Ann Bishop, ’76, chair of the Board of Visitors.
