Notice of The Macon-Bibb County Property Tax Increase

The Macon-Bibb County Board of Commission has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 24.97 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Macon-Bibb County Government Center, 700 Poplar Street, Macon, Georgia on July 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Macon-Bibb County Government Center, 700 Poplar Street, Macon, Georgia on July 31, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. and on August 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 21.848 mills, an increase of 4.365 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 17.483 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000.00 is approximately $187.70 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $125,000.00 is approximately $218.25.
