Wesleyan College is the proud recipient of a generous grant of classroom furniture and technology totaling more than $50,000 from Commercial Furnishings. Wesleyan competed for the grant to create a flexible classroom environment that can be adapted for numerous instructional methods. Commercial Furnishings awarded the grant to Wesleyan last summer and the classroom installation was completed this spring. The classroom is used by numerous programs including history, mathematics, and political science. Commercial Furnishings donated mobile desks, chairs, whiteboards, and a MediaScape which fosters mobility and fluidity to increase the effectiveness of the curriculum. 

President Vivia Fowler noted, “Wesleyan College is extremely grateful to Commercial Furnishings for this transformative contribution. Due to the generosity of Commercial Furnishings, the classroom combines space and pedagogy which expands the holistic educational experience, one where students and professors are not limited by furniture, technology, or design. The grant from Commercial Furnishings enables us to adapt the classroom to the curriculum, which creates a more pliable classroom environment.”
