Opening for the first time this year will be the brand new South Bibb Recreation Center on Houston Road. The Center has been under construction since August 2016, and was funded with $7.64 million in voter-approved SPLOST funds. An official ribbon cutting announcing the opening of this Center will be held later in May. The pool at Booker T. Washington Center will not open this summer due to the proximity of construction from the I-75/I-16 Improvement Project.
