Macon Area Habitat for Humanity and The Big House Come Together to Make Dreams Come True

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018

The Allman Brothers may have sung “I’ve a hunger for the dreams I’ll never see” in their 1969 song Dream, but this spring two familiar organizations will come together for a joint fundraiser to make dreams come true. Macon Area Habitat for Humanity and The Big House will host an event called “Making Dreams Come True” on Saturday, May 19.

Making Dreams Come True will highlight the work on Macon Area Habitat for Humanity on Saturday morning when volunteers from The Big House will work side-by-side with Habitat homeowners, volunteers and staff members on the construction site of one of Habitat’s newest homes at 188 Forest Avenue in Pleasant Hill. In the evening, The Big House will be the focus when the crowd comes back together for a concert featuring American Blvd. at The Big House where guests will be invited to tour the museum, enjoy local food and continue the celebration of these two local agencies. Tickets for the family friendly concert will be $10 per person and will include food, a tour of the museum and the concert. A cash bar will be available.

Cox Communications is the lead sponsor for Making Dreams Come True. During the concert Saturday evening representatives from Cox Communications will make a special announcement to recognize the winners of a recent grant challenge. The winners will be announced at 6:30pm.

Funds raised through ticket sales, sponsorships and donations will support the missions of both Macon Area Habitat for Humanity and The Big House.
