I-75 Central Corridor Coalition Meeting May 17th

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, May 15th, 2018

The Georgia I-75 South Express Lanes were recently opened  by Georgia DOT. The Georgia Statewide Freight and Logistics Action Plan was created in 2012. The I-75 and I-16 corridors from Atlanta to Savannah are a major freight and logistics focus of the Georgia DOT.

The Georgia State Rail Plan was completed in 2015 and continued work is underway to outline options for rail to middle Georgia. These actions are only the beginning of work underway by Georgia DOT to improve the corridor.

The I-75 Corridor from Macon to Atlanta has tremendous economic potential for the State of Georgia. A more coordinated and intentional growth strategy for the I-75 Corridor will leverage the existing assets and seek to attract more investment.

The May 17th event will focus on the activities of Convention and Visitors Bureaus to promote tourism and economic development in Middle Georgia.
