Cox Awards $30,000 to Middle Georgia Non-Profits

Cox Communications has awarded $30,000 to local non-profits in Bibb and Houston Counties through the Cox Charity Community Grant challenge, a special program designed to redistribute charitable funding that came available in early 2018. Cox is honored to be based in Georgia, and give back to the communities we serve.
Through a two-month long grant application process, area schools, non-profits and government agencies submitted applications to Cox for a grant of up to $10,000. Following a thorough review of 47 applications, Cox is happy to announce the grant recipients:
• The Ruth Hartley Mosley Memorial Women’s Center received $3,000 for its Camp Infinity, a summer camp for Middle School students aimed at strengthening academic skills in math and reading.
• The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity received $2,500 to be applied to the construction of two new, single-family homeownership units.
• The Big House received $2,500 to be applied to the renovation of the newly acquired structure at 2353 Vineville Avenue, adjacent to The Big House Museum.
• Theatre Macon received $4,000 to support their Youth Actors Company.
• The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation received $5,000 to go towards the Revitalizing Baseball to Inner Cities program
• Kids & Pros received $5,000 to go towards their 9th Annual Football Camp in Warner Robins.
• The Houston County Habitat for Humanity received $5,000 for their Neighborhood Revitalization and Beautification Program.
• The Fine Art Society of Houston County received $3,000 for their “The Art Hub” Summer Arts Program.
