Georgia Public Service Commission to Hold Hearings May 2nd-3rd on the 18th Vogtle Construction Monitoring Report

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, April 27th, 2018

The Georgia Public Service Commission will conduct hearings on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. on the Georgia Power Company’s 18th Vogtle Plant Construction Monitoring Report in Docket 29849 in Room 110 at the Commission offices at 244 Washington Street, S.W. Atlanta, Georgia 30334. The hearing will continue if needed on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10 a.m.

The Procedural and Scheduling Order dated March 28, 2018 identifies two issues for this proceeding. First is whether the Commission should verify and approve or disapprove the expenditures as made pursuant to the certificate issued by the Commission. Georgia Power is requesting the Commission to verify and approve $448 million in expenditures on the Vogtle Construction Project for the six-month period beginning July 1, 2017 and ending December 31, 2017.  The second issue is whether the Commission should modify or revise the information the Company is required to file in each semi-annual Construction Monitoring Report.
