Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission Hosting Annual Awards Luncheon Today

The Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission will hold its annual Volunteer and Awards Luncheon on Friday, March 9 at Vineville United Methodist Church (2045 Vineville Avenue) beginning at 11:30 a.m.
 
Each year, the Commission recognizes outstanding volunteers, organizations, government employees, schools, youths, and businesses for their outstanding efforts in the areas of Litter Prevention, Waste Reduction & Recycling, Community Beautification, and Overall Community Improvement. A total of 24 awards will be given out, and two special presentations will be made. The KMBBC will also announce the awards it won at the state and national level.
 
Featured guests this year include Keep America Beautiful President & CEO Helen Lowman, Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Christopher Nunn, KMBBC and International Cherry Blossom Festival Founder Carolyn Crayton, and Macon-Bibb County Mayor Robert Reichert. This year’s luncheon is sponsored by Advanced Disposal, Crown Candy Corporation, MaconPower, Coca-Cola, the Fickling Family Foundation, and Graphic Packaging International.
