Brandon Kirshner M.D., M.P.H., Internal Medicine Resident at Coliseum Medical Center, was recently elected as Vice-chair of the Resident and Fellow section of the Medical Association of Georgia.  The elections were made during the MAG House of Delegates annual meeting in Savannah.

The Medical Association of Georgia is a statewide organization of over 7,800 members with a mission to enhance patient care and the health of the public by advancing the art and science of medicine and by representing physicians and patients in the policy making process.

Within MAG, there is the Resident and Fellow section which is the main representative body of all of the medical residents and fellows within the State of Georgia, across all medical specialties. The primary role of MAG’s Resident Physician and Fellows Section is to improve graduate medical education in the state.

“Graduate Medical Education is the future of medicine. It’s very exciting to be able to be a part of the Resident leadership formulating policy and legislation for the next generation of physicians,” said Dr. Kirshner.  “Before this year, the City of Macon had no representation on the Resident and Fellow section of the MAG. I am very proud to represent the medical residents within Macon, especially those at Coliseum Medical Centers.”
