Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced that he has raised more than $1 million for his 2018 election campaign thanks to the generous support of thousands of donors across the state of Georgia.

More than $538,000 of that $1 million was raised since June 30, 2017. Carr's campaign now holds $700,000 cash on hand heading into the November election.

"Since I took office as Georgia's Attorney General, I have remained committed to upholding the Constitution and protecting Georgians by building relationships based on common ground and building trust with anyone willing to come to the table," said Carr. "I am grateful that so many Georgians are supporting our campaign. We have much to accomplish together in the months -- and hopefully years -- ahead!"

Carr has traveled the state since taking office helping spread greater awareness and understanding about the role of the Attorney General's office. He has been named to a number of state- and national-level leadership positions in the areas he's focusing on as Attorney General, including human trafficking, opioid addiction and elder abuse.

In November 2016, Carr was appointed to the National Association of Attorneys General’s Human Trafficking Committee and its Substance Abuse Committee. In 2017, Chris was appointed to both Governor Nathan Deal’s Older Adults Cabinet and the National Association of Attorneys General's Presidential Initiative Advisory Committee, which is focused on fighting elder abuse.

Also in November 2017, Chris was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Republican Attorneys General Association. The organization's mission mirrors Carr's commitment to the principle of federalism, adherence to the rule of law, and applying a commonsense, free-market approach to governing.

Carr's campaign recently announced endorsements from Georgia's Congressional leaders as the first in a series of major endorsements.
