Central Georgia Technical College recently earned a ranking of No. 23 on Military Times Best: Colleges 2018 rankings as a career and technical college serving military students.

In its eighth year, the rankings factor in the results of the publication’s annual survey, the most comprehensive school-by-school assessment of veteran and military students’ services and rates of academic achievement.

The Military Times Best distinction, formerly Best for Vets, recognizes CGTC for its commitment to providing quality educational opportunities to America’s veterans and military-connected students.

One of the ways CGTC serves veteran’s is through its partnership with the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center. Having served over 12,000 veterans, service members, and their families in 16 months of operation, the Center offers educational coaching, career counseling, community resource assistance, resume assistance and workforce training in partnership with Georgia’s academic institutions, including CGTC.

"Of the hundreds of schools that applied, fewer than half received the Military Times Best: Colleges designation this year. Only the best made the cut," said George Altman, the Military Times editor in charge of the rankings. "For the past eight years, we've seen colleges and universities consistently increasing their resources, revising their policies and improving their academic outcomes for military and veteran students. The Military Times Best: Colleges rankings showcase the very best of these efforts."
