SunTrust Announces New South Georgia and Columbus Leadership

SunTrust Banks, Inc. announced two new leadership roles in South Georgia.  Matt Greer will now serve as president of the South Georgia Market which includes: Macon, Warner Robins, Columbus, Albany, and Douglas, while Jerry Coleman will now serve as the president of the Greater-Columbus Market.

Together, they will play a significant role in leading the local teams and delivering the capabilities of our full suite of industry expertise,” said Allison Dukes, Commercial and Business Banking executive.
 
Greer has been with SunTrust for 16 years, and has nearly 20 years of banking experience, most recently serving as the Douglas Market president. He has deep experience in building teams focused on helping Commercial Banking clients achieve smart growth and leveraging the competitive advantage of SunTrust’s unique One Team approach. He is a native of Perry, GA and a graduate of the University of Georgia.
 
In addition to his role as head of the Private Wealth Management Medical Specialty practice, Coleman will now also serve as the president for the Columbus Market. He lives in Columbus, and while he has spent 35 years with SunTrust, more than 20 of those years has been in various roles with the company in Columbus. Coleman has led the Medical Specialty practice for the past four years where he helped to build both the team and a differentiated practice for SunTrust and the company’s clients in the healthcare industry. He is native of Columbus, GA, a graduate of Presbyterian College, and earned a MBA from Auburn University.
