Governor Announces Two Judicial Appointments

Gov. Nathan Deal announced the appointments of Jeffery O. Monroe to a State Court judgeship within Bibb County and Margaret L. Spencer to a State Court judgeship within Clayton County.  

The vacancy within the State Court of Bibb County was created by the retirement of the Honorable William P. Adams. The vacancy within the State Court of Clayton County was created by the retirement of the Honorable John C. Carbo. The appointments will take effect upon swearing in.

Jeffery O. Monroe, State Court of Bibb County
Monroe is a partner at Jones Cork, LLP in Macon. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Georgia. Monroe and his wife, Sheila, have two children and reside in Macon.

Margaret L. Spencer, State Court of Clayton County
Spencer is the senior assistant solicitor general for the Clayton County Solicitor General’s Office. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University and a law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Spencer and her husband, Joseph, live with their family in Riverdale.
