10,000 Rubber Ducks fill the Pool at Post Chastain for Special Olympics Georgia

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, August 10th, 2017

Special Olympics Georgia will once again hold its annual Duck Pluck on Friday, August 11. 10,000 yellow rubber ducks, that individuals, businesses and partners throughout the community have adopted, will be floating in the pool at Post Chastain.

The event will begin at 1:00 pm, with Drex from Cox Media's B98.5 FM plucking six rubber ducks from the water. The lucky owners of these ducks will win one of six prizes: two round trip tickets on Spirit Airlines, a 2 night stay at The King & Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St. Simons Island, a Dell laptop, a $400 Visa gift card, a YETI 35 cooler and tumbler, and a $250 Macy's gift card.

Rubber ducks are still available to be adopted for only five dollars per duck. There is no limit to how many ducks an individual can adopt, and your chances of winning only increase with the more rubber ducks you adopt. All proceeds go towards the 27,115 Special Olympics Georgia athletes' sports training and participation in State Games. To adopt your duck, visit www.atlantaduckpluck.com, and click "adopt a duck now" to start the process.

SOGA would like to recognize and thank this year's Lucky Duck Sponsors for their support: Rooms To Go Foundation and Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies.
