Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, July 18th, 2017

During the week of July 17-21, over 100 youth volunteers will be coming to Macon to repair homes with Rebuilding Macon. The volunteers are a part of Hope Missions, a Christian organization based out of Jasper, AL that coordinates service projects both throughout the United States and around the world. This will be the first year that Hope Missions works with Rebuilding Macon.

During their stay in Macon, the youth volunteers will repair five roofs, paint eight houses, and build two wheelchair ramps. Rebuilding Macon Executive Director Debra Rollins is looking forward to the new partnership. “We’re very excited to have Hope Missions working with Rebuilding Macon this year,” said Rollins, “and we hope to have them back serving the Macon community for many years to come.”

Just last week Rebuilding Macon had over 300 volunteers from Forest Hills United Methodist Church River of Life. The group completed 40 projects. River of Life has worked with Rebuilding Macon every July for more than 10 years.
