Little League Southeastern Regional Tournaments Seeking Volunteers

Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Tuesday, June 20th, 2017

The annual Little League Baseball and Softball Southeastern Regional Tournaments are looking for volunteers to assist in multiple areas to support Tournament operations.

Eight areas are available for volunteers to select from, which includes concessions, event logistics, gift shop, grounds crew, parking, press box, team meals and usher. No experience or minimum time commitment is required. Duties are wide-range amongst the areas and allow for nearly anyone to find a fit that suits them.

The 2017 Softball Tournament will take place July 27-31 and the 2017 Baseball Tournament will be conducted August 4-9. Both are played at Little League® Southeast Park in Warner Robins.

Interested individuals will need to complete a mandatory registration process, which includes consenting to a required background check to comply with Little League regulations prior to assuming any volunteer duties. The registration process can now be completed, in full, online, including through mobile devices and is accessible from the Region website, LittleLeague.org/South. Additional tournament information, including game schedules can also be found on the Region website.

Individuals can also complete register at the Region office, next to Southeast Park, located at 439 Snellgrove Drive in Warner Robins, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New this year is a Volunteer Orientation Meeting that will be held on Monday, July 17 at the Region office in Warner Robins. During this Meeting, any individual who might be interested in learning more about being a volunteer or a new volunteer that has completed the registration process can learn more about the tournaments and the available volunteer areas. It is not mandatory for any volunteer to attend, but recommended.

Groups, including area businesses and organizations may also volunteer in select areas. Anyone seeking additional information related to volunteering or the tournaments should contact Assistant Region Director Matt Weber by email [email protected] or by phone weekdays at 478-987-7227.
