Secretary of State Kemp Reminds 18 Professionally Licensed Groups to Renew by June 30th

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, June 14th, 2017

Secretary of State Brian Kemp reminds eighteen professionally licensed groups to renew their licenses by June 30, 2017. These groups include architects; athlete agents; barber instructors, schools, and shops; cosmetology instructors, schools, and shops; crematory establishments; esthetician instructors, schools, and shops; funeral establishments; private detective and security agencies; nail care instructors, schools, and shops; and water and wastewater treatment plant operators.

“By streamlining our processes and cutting red tape, Georgia’s professional workforce is now able to get their licenses renewed faster than ever before through our agency,” stated Secretary Kemp. “With the June 30 deadline right around the corner, I am encouraging licensees to renew their professional licenses as early as possible.”

To renew your professional license, visit the Professional Licensing Board’s website before June 30 to complete the online renewal process. Consult the office’s step-by-step instructions for assistance during online renewal. Once you have submitted payment information and verified renewal, you can print your payment receipt and professional license. Please submit continuing education documents if you have been selected for an audit.

Individuals may also request a mailed renewal form to be sent to the address on file with the licensing board. Please call (478) 207-2440 to submit a request for a paper form.

If a license holder fails to renew their license before the June 30 deadline, a late fee will be imposed to bring the expired license into compliance. Importantly, Georgia law prohibits professional license holders from conducting unlicensed practice, which includes practicing with an expired license.
