Seven area middle school and high school students have been awarded scholarships from the Jazz Association of Macon and the new Bob Barnette Memorial Music Scholarship. Scholarships will help cover costs of college tuition, musical instruments, private music lessons or fees to attend the University of Georgia Summer Music Camp.

Recipients of the Bob Barnette Memorial Music Scholarship:

Hunter Gales: 9^th grade, Rutland High School

Anthony Pitts: 10^th grade, Rutland High School

Daylen Lameli: 8^th grade, Weaver Middle School

Tatyana Royal: 8^th grade, Weaver Middle School

Jetti Tiernan: 8^th grade, Howard Middle School

Alexander Harmon, 7^th grade, Tattnall Square Academy
