Clark Nexsen recently announced the promotion of Gus Brooks and Blake Cummings to associate. Brooks and Cummings share a passion for their work and a high metric of outstanding performance. As a privately held company, Clark Nexsen associates are integrally involved in guiding the firm’s client-focused strategy to provide innovative, sustainable design solutions.

Gus Brooks is a senior project manager in Clark Nexsen’s Macon office. He has worked as a designer, project engineer, and project manager on industrial design and construction projects for more than 30 years. His experience focuses on industrial minerals, pulp and paper, bio-fuels and facility improvements.

While Gus has extensive industrial technical knowledge, he knows that strong relationships are the key to success. He says, “It’s very fulfilling to build relationships to the point where Clark Nexsen is a client’s trusted long term partner.”

Brooks worked with Pyramax (now Imerys) on a plant where Clark Nexsen provided everything from site selection, utilities, up to startup and commissioning. Currently, he is working with Envision Plastics to minimize their waste stream.

Blake Cummings is a project manager in the firm’s Macon office with more than 25 years of experience across market sectors including healthcare, federal, housing, and K-12. Since moving into a full-time project management role, Cummings has been integral to the successful and efficient delivery of both Veterans Administration and DOD projects.

As a well-organized professional, his skill set and strengths align for strong project management. Cummings values clear communication and quality design, and recognizes that a key part of his role is helping designers manage and meet tight timelines and budgets.

Having joined the firm in 1992 at just 18 years old, Cummings has diverse experience including electrical design and drafting for multiple project types. He is recognized by his colleagues and clients for his commitment to high quality work and client service. Cummings views each project, large or small, as an important opportunity to make a positive difference for the end user.
