Coliseum Medical Centers Names New Medical Director of Emergency Medicine

Coliseum Medical Centers is pleased to welcome John Shivdat, D.O., as the medical director of the emergency department.  Dr. Shivdat will provide clinical and administrative leadership in the emergency room while working with hospital personnel to continuously deliver exceptional patient care.
 
Dr. Shivdat spent his career in emergency medicine. He most recently served as medical director of the emergency department at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. There, he also served as the medical director of stroke, chairman of the sepsis committee, member of the trauma committee, and chairman of the emergency department council committee. Prior to that, he served as medical director of the emergency department at Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital as well as the medical director of emergency medical services in Houston County.  He has served the middle Georgia community since 1999.
 
Dr. Shivdat earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  He completed his internship at UMDNJ, Union Hospital in Union, New Jersey and his residency in emergency medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, where he also served as chief resident.
