Georgia College Welcomes New Management Department Chair

Georgia College welcomes Dr. William J. Donoher as the new chair of the Department of Management in the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business.

During his academic career, Donoher has taught a wide range of courses from the undergraduate to Ph.D. level. His research has focused on issues at the intersection of law and business, with special emphasis on the legal and managerial implications of bankruptcy and securities laws, corporate governance, and executive compensation and incentive systems. His research interests also extend to the influence of the law on entrepreneurial strategies, corporate political strategies, and social responsibility and business ethics.

Donoher earned his J.D. at Washington University in St. Louis and his Ph.D. at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He practiced corporate law in Phoenix, Arizona, with one of the largest law firms in the Southwest, where he represented both creditors and debtors in large commercial credit transactions and debt workouts and renegotiations. 

Donoher currently serves as chair of the Department of Management at Ball State University. Prior to his appointment at Ball State University, Donoher served on the faculties at Missouri State University, Bradley University and Washington State University. He has also held visiting appointments at Texas Tech University and Valdosta State University. 

Donoher will assume his role as chair of the Department of Management on July 1, 2017. Please welcome him and his family to Georgia College and the community.
