Milledgeville Exchange Club Announces Grand Marshals for North Pole Fantasy Parade
Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO
Friday, December 2nd, 2016
The Milledgeville Exchange Club is excited to announce 3rd grader Teah Lossifov and 3rd grader Paris Mosley have been granted the honor to be the Co-Grand Marshals for the annual Christmas parade, themed “North Pole Fantasy”.
This year the Exchange Club hosted a contest for all local second through fifth graders to decide who would be the grand marshal for one of Milledgeville’s favorite, annual events. All contest participants had to write an essay about what they thought went on at the North Pole, what would they do there and what they thought the North Pole looked like. Teah and Paris were selected from over 50 entries for having the most creative and imaginative essays.
In addition to Teah and Paris, the JMA State champion football team was selected as Co-Grand Marshals. The football team will ride on a decorated float directly behind our essay winners.
The Milledgeville Exchange Club is hosting this year’s lighted Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. in downtown Milledgeville. The parade line-up has over 60 participants ranging from floats to marching bands to classic tractors and cars. The Exchange Club is encouraging everyone to come early and visit Blossoms Florist located at 144 West Hancock St, Milledgeville to get your picture taken with Santa and visit with his elves and The Grinch between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
