Houston Healthcare Announces Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Sonny Watson, Chairman Houston Hospital Systems Inc., and Mr. Cary Martin, Chief Executive Officer, announce the appointment of Mr. Charles G. Briscoe as the Chief Operating Officer for Houston Hospitals Inc.  Mr. Briscoe will assume his position on January 2, 2017.
 
In the new role, Mr. Briscoe will provide oversight and direction to both the Houston Medical Center and the Perry Hospital. Additionally, he will serve as a principal assistant to the CEO, Mr. Martin.
 
Mr. Briscoe is board certified in healthcare management and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Health Administration from Georgia State University.
 
Mr. Briscoe brings over twenty years of experience to Houston Healthcare. He has worked for a national hospital firm in communities located across the Southeast where he has held various advancing hospital executive management positions. Most notably, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer for facilities in Lake City, Florida and Macon, Georgia. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Acute Care Services with Community Health Services of Georgia based in Macon, Georgia. In that capacity, Mr. Briscoe provided regional leadership for Northridge Medical Center in Commerce, Georgia.
 
Mr. Briscoe currently serves as a board member for the United Way of Central Georgia and volunteers with various other community, civic, and religious organizations. He is married to Lane Briscoe, who is from Perry, Georgia, and they have two sons, Charlie and David.
