The Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting its 36th annual meeting Thursday, August 25 at Macon Marriott City Center from 12 - 2 p.m. The MBCCVB annual meeting will include a tourism awards ceremony and presentation of year-end results for the leisure, meetings & convention and group tour markets.    

The 2016 Otis Hughes Tourism Spirit and B.J. Cain Top of the Line awards will be presented during the tourism awards ceremony. The Otis Hughes Tourism award is given to a person who has contributed significantly to the Macon tourism industry and has given unending time, talent and skill to support Macon’s tourism growth. The B.J. Cain Top of the Line award is presented to a person who works directly with a visitor at an attraction, restaurant and/or lodging property and goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide an exemplary experience for the visitor.

The meeting will have a presentation from Rita Suiter, Owner of FiveStar Customer Service Strategies. FiveStar is an educational, motivational and consulting company which specializes in customer service.
