Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Announces New Executive Director

The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity has announced the selection of Ivey EJ Hall, MBA, CVA as its new executive director. Hall fills the vacancy created by Harold Tessendorf’s departure in April to join the Savannah Habitat affiliate. Prior to this appointment, Hall served as Director of Volunteer Services with Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA.

“We are delighted to have Ivey lead our affiliate,” said Board President Dr. Linda Brennan. “She has a unique combination of strengths and insights to take Macon Area Habitat to an even greater level of impact in our community.”

Hall brings more than a decade of volunteer management, fundraising, and community development experience in the nonprofit sector. Hall studied Marketing at Florida State University and holds a certificate in Volunteer Administration from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University, completed Goodwill Industries International Senior Leader Training program, and is a graduate of Leadership Macon. Under her Leadership, she was the recipient of the Goodwill Industries International Volunteer Program of the Year in 2014 and 2016.

Hall’s community involvement and service includes serving as a sustainer for the Junior League of Macon and a Sunday School class leader and teacher at Vineville United Methodist Church. She was a founding member of the Goodwill Industries International Volunteer Services Advisory Council, Vice President of the Macon Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, and a volunteer at Springdale Elementary School.

Hall’s husband, Travis, is an attorney with Chambless Higdon Richardson Katz & Griggs. The two have three children, Jon Emory (7), Siler (4), and Isabel (6 months).
