Navicent Health is pleased to introduce the newest tool in its diagnostics arsenal – a new mobile MRI coach equipped with GE’s 1.5 T MRI System – to Peach and surrounding counties. The new coach will allow Navicent Health to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic testing in Peach County, bringing the testing to the patient rather than having the patient travel for the test.

“At Navicent Health, our mantra is ‘Everything about us is all about you,’ the patient. We truly believe that and seek to live up to that high standard. It is for that reason that we have chosen to utilize this mobile MRI coach. By using this mobile diagnostic technology, we can reach patients who will be able to access care locally at Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health without having to incur travel expenses and extended time away from work, school and family,” said Dr. Ninfa M. Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health.

Navicent Health unveiled the mobile MRI coach at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 16.

“As a critical access hospital, Medical Center of Peach County could not justify the cost of having fixed site MRI capabilities. Navicent Health’s mobile MRI coach will allow hospitals such as ours to access advanced imaging technology in order to better serve our patients,” said Darren Pearce, Chief Administrative Officer of MCPC.

The coach is beautifully appointed with hardwood floors, wall murals and a simulated skylight in order to help patients feel at ease.

MRI, also known as Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a diagnostic test that uses a magnetic field and radio wave energy pulses to image organs and structures within the human body. The test can be used for a multitude of reasons, including the imaging of tumors, bleeds, injuries, blood vessel abnormalities and infections.
