Field Set for the 2016 Little League Softball Southeastern Region Tournament

Four returning state representatives along with the defending Southeastern Region and World Series Champions are part of the seven team field that will compete for the title of Little League Softball Southeast Champion, July 28-August 1.

All games are played at Little League Southeast Park, located on the Little League Southeastern Region Headquarters complex at 438 Snellgrove Drive in Warner Robins. Admission and parking to all games is free.

The winner of the five-day modified double-elimination tournament will compete for a spot in the Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Ore., August 10-17

Four states will have the same representative as 2015, tying the record set in 2011. Windermere Softball Little League (Florida), Rowan Little League (North Carolina), Irmo Little League (South Carolina) and Atlee/Ashland Little Leagues (Virginia) are the back-to-back state champions.

Rowan Little League is both the defending Southeast Region and World Series Champion. Irmo Little League is making its fourth appearance, tying the record of appearances by a South Carolina league in the Southeastern Softball Tournament. Windermere Softball is appearing for the third time, the most for a league from Florida.

Barboursville Little League (West Virginia) will appear for the sixth time, setting the appearance record for any Southeastern Region league in the Softball Tournament. Western/Vine Ingle Little Leagues (Georgia) and Clarksville National/Montgomery Central Little Leagues (Tennessee) round out the field.

Teams will participate in arrival day activities Wednesday, July 27, which will conclude with a Tournament Banquet at the Museum of Aviation. North Carolina and West Virginia will start game action Thursday, July 28 at 11 a.m. eastern. Florida and Georgia will square off in the opening round for the second consecutive year at 2 p.m. and Tennessee and Virginia will end day one action at 5 p.m. The Tournament will progress across four more days, culminating with the Championship game Monday, August 1 at 10 a.m.
