Walmart’s Charitable Donations in Georgia Hit $46M

Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $45.7 million in cash and in-kind contributions to support nonprofit organizations and programs in Georgia that battle hunger and healthy eating, workforce development, disaster preparedness and other needs.

Contributions in the Peach State went to:

  • Action Ministries Inc.

  • America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia Inc.

  • Community In Schools of Georgia Inc.

  • CSRA Business League Inc.

  • Dress for Success Atlanta

  • East Lake Foundation Inc.

  • Feeding the Valley Inc.

  • Food Bank of Northeast Georgia

  • Georgia Wildlife Federation

  • Golden Harvest Food Bank Inc.

  • Keep Carroll Beautiful, Inc.

  • Lower Chattahoochee Direct Service Corp

  • Northeast Georgia Homeless Veterans Shelter

  • Senior Citizens Inc.

  • Senior Citizens Services of Metropolitan Atlanta Inc.

  • Turningpoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

Also last fiscal year in Georgia, Walmart donated 23.7 million pounds of food -- nearly 19.75 million meals -- to local food banks. The retailer and its Foundation have collaborated with Action Ministries Inc. in the state of Georgia to provide hunger relief to Georgia families in need.

Across the nation last year. Walmart gave a total of $1.42 billion in donations to advance commitments to economic opportunity, sustainability and local communities.
