Cox to Recognize 30 Student Heroes

Cox Communications is hosting the second annual Inspirational Student Hero Awards on Monday, May 9th at 4:30 p.m., at the Tubman Museum, 310 Cherry Street in downtown Macon.  Cox will recognize 30 students from Macon-Bibb County who have demonstrated extraordinary accomplishments at school, at home and in their communities, despite facing many challenges on a daily basis.
 
“This award signifies the way teachers, administrators and peers look up to these special children for their enduring perseverance, inner strength and courage of character to rise above significant challenges and bring encouragement to others,” stated Lynn Murphey, Middle Georgia market vice president for Cox Communications.  “It is my honor to pay tribute to these student heroes. They truly are an inspiration to us all.”
 
The students were chosen by a committee of leaders at their school.  During the event, Cox will present the students with an engraved medallions and certificates of honor.
