Staff Report From Middle Georgia CEO

Thursday, May 26th, 2016

Clyde L. Reese III, Esq., visited Fairview Park Hospital on Wednesday, May 25. As Commissioner, Reese oversees the state agency that administers Georgia Medicaid. The purpose of his visit was to learn about the needs of the patient community Fairview Park serves and understand the economic impact the hospital makes in its 13 county service area. Reese toured the hospital and met with the hospital’s President and Chief Executive Officer Don Avery.

“I am very impressed by the facility, the staff and the obvious teamwork that everyone has here. They do great work for Dublin and this part of the state of Georgia,” Reese said.

“As Commissioner of Community Health we regulate and reimburse every hospital in the state. We like to visit each hospital in Georgia and look at the facility and the environment first hand. Today I was able to meet with the administrative team at Fairview Park Hospital to hear firsthand what their focuses are for this facility. I am very impressed with what I see in Dublin.”

Reese stated that the visit helps him in Atlanta because they reimburse all facilities and regulate services in all hospitals in the state of Georgia. “When you see something coming across your desk in Atlanta, if you have actually seen the facility, walked around it and met the people it makes a difference than just looking at a file.”
