The Central Georgia Technical College Foundation recently received $6,400 in scholarships from the Flint Energies Foundation. This is a first-time scholarship program for Flint Energies. The company awarded a total of approximately $80,000 to local students for this coming Spring semester.

“Supporting quality education has always been a large part of our commitment to community,” said Marian McLemore, manager of public relations at Flint Energies. “College costs continue to increase each year and we hope that this scholarship program will help local students achieve their dream of a college education.”

The scholarships awarded by Flint Energies will apply to three areas: General Education Development diploma, technical college, and college or university. The donation to CGTC’s Foundation will apply to 40 adult education students seeking their GED.

Flint Energies awarded scholarships to students that live in the company’s service delivery area. The counties within that area that are also included in the service area for CGTC’s adult education program include Bibb, Crawford, Dooly, Houston, Macon, Monroe, Peach, and Twiggs.

"We are so appreciative of our strong partnership with the Flint Energies Foundation," said Tonya McClure, assistant vice president of Institutional Advancement at CGTC. "This generous gift will further aid us in our mission to help CGTC's adult education students realize their educational goals."
