Donald Chase Appointed as New Flint Board Member

Donald G. Chase of Oglethorpe, Ga. was appointed recently by Flint’s Board of Directors to fill the vacancy created by the passing of William Brown of Montezuma.  Chase will represent Macon, Dooly and Sumter counties. Though he was appointed by the Board of Directors, Chase will stand for election by members at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting in October.

Chase is the Vice President and Owner of Chase Farms, Inc. located in Oglethorpe.  He is a Board member of the Macon County Farm Bureau and the Georgia Peanut Commission and Chairman of the Upper Flint Water Planning Council.  Farming since 1988, Chase also served as former chairman of the Georgia Corn Commission and former board member of the Ocmulgee River Soil and Water Conservation District and Mid Georgia Propane.

A 1986 graduate of Southern Adventist University, Chase received his MBA in Finance and Operations Management from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.  Outside of work, Chase is a member of Oglethorpe Seventh Day Adventist Church.  He and his wife Michelle, have three children: Marilee, Greg and Laura.
