NewTown Macon is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for its inaugural Marketing Academy, presented by Georgia Power. Designed to equip entrepreneurs with essential digital marketing skills, the Marketing Academy will launch in June 2024 and offers immersive training to drive business growth in Macon's vibrant community.

"We are proud to partner with NewTown Macon in sponsorship of the Marketing Academy," said Patrick Harris, Georgia Power's Region Executive for Macon. "We are excited to help create economic opportunities for the community and grow our local businesses by using the resources from the inaugural Marketing Academy."

Thanks to a generous grant from Georgia Power, NewTown Macon partnered with BizHack, an award-winning provider of purpose-driven digital marketing consulting and training for small businesses limited in time, money, and expertise, to develop curriculum for the Marketing Academy. The Academy is a 12-session program designed to empower growth-oriented entrepreneurs with practical digital marketing skills. Led by industry experts and tailored to Macon's unique business landscape, the academy covers key topics such as crafting compelling narratives, targeting ideal customers, and maximizing online presence. Through interactive lessons and individualized coaching, participants will gain actionable insights to fuel their marketing efforts and achieve long-term success. Graduates of the program will run a “Real Life Campaign” and develop a 3-month content calendar for maximizing their sales during the holiday season.

“As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), NewTown Macon is committed to offering high quality and practical training for Macon’s entrepreneurs,” said Emily Hopkins, Vice President of External Affairs. “Marketing, specifically digital marketing, is the most requested topic for our trainings. Thanks to Georgia Power’s support, we can now meet that demand and add to our portfolio of signature academies that equip entrepreneurs with the skills they need to run successful and sustainable businesses.”

The Marketing Academy is limited to 30 participants. The academy is designed for existing businesses that have an established product or service to sell and are ready to take their marketing efforts to the next level. Entrepreneurs who have not established their business or are in the process of launching their new business are not eligible to participate in the program.

Applications are open until Friday, May 3. The Marketing Academy will meet weekly beginning Monday, June 3, from 9:30am to 11am through Monday, September 9. For more information about the Marketing Academy and to apply, please visit https://newtownmacon.com/marketing-academy/
