Cox Communications is working to help feed families in Middle Georgia through the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank with a $25,000 donation from The James M. Cox Foundation. The grant will support local families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic has caused economic strain for so many in our community, and we are grateful for the tremendous efforts by our local food banks to take care of the most vulnerable among us,” said Bonnie Lopez-Crowe, market vice president for the Cox Middle Georgia market. “We are proud to support the food bank in their mission to ensure none of our friends and neighbors in Middle Georgia go without food.”

“We appreciate the generous grant from the James M. Cox Foundation during this time of unprecedented need for food assistance,” said Kathy McCollum, executive director of the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank.  “Your gift will help the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank serve even more of our neighbors.”

The surprise announcement was made to the food bank earlier this week via Zoom.  You can watch that video here.

The James M. Cox Foundation is the charitable arm of Cox Enterprises, the parent company of Cox Communications. In response to the growing strain on feeding the community, the foundation announced a $25,000 donation to support people in need where Cox employees live and work.
