ASP – America’s Swimming Pool Company, the nation’s largest pool cleaning, repair, and renovation franchise, has teamed up with OneWorld Health to provide a clean water source to hospitals in East Africa and Central America. To help support this cause, local ASP franchise owners are becoming clean water advocates and educating their customers and community about the global water crisis. In addition to public awareness, ASP is dedicated to making significant improvements for those living without access to clean water. The company has launched an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise $500,000 towards Clean Water Matters over the next five years. This will provide a clean water source to 10 new hospitals around the world.

In celebration of the Clean Water Matters fundraising initiative, the company is offering a one-day giving marathon to support this cause – ASP Gives Day.  On October 5, 2019, join the Clean Water Matters movement by giving monetary donations, learn about volunteer opportunities, or help share the word by becoming an ambassador for clean water. Find out more information on how to give by visiting ASPcares.org.

“We feel called to do something more,” said Thomas P. Swift, Jr., President and COO of America’s Swimming Pool Company. “Clean Water Matters provides us with the opportunity to create a better, cleaner future.”

ASP has been committed to clean water since its founding in 2002. They also feel a responsibility for improving the world we live in. Both ASP and OneWord Health believe that your birth country should not determine your ability to access basic healthcare. Since 2017, the two organizations have joined forces to bring clean water to the healthcare setting of the developing world.

“Clean water is very important to our franchise owners, and to our customers each and every day,” said Stewart Vernon, Founder and CEO of America’s Swimming Pool Company. “By partnering with OneWorld Health, ASP is joining a movement to provide quality, affordable healthcare to people in need.”

The partnership combines ASP’s expertise and giving culture with OneWorld Health’s proven success in international healthcare to provide clean water to medical facilities in communities in need today and for generations to come. Since opening its first sustainable medical center in January 2011, OneWorld Health continues to transform healthcare in the developing world one community at a time. OneWorld Health is the only 100% sustainable health care solution for developing countries.

“In partnership, relationship is everything, and we believe we need to be working with like-minded folks,” said Michael O’Neal, Executive Director of OneWorld Health. “What we’ve seen with ASP and the way they run their business is exactly what we are looking for in a partnership. We are looking for people that recognize they have a platform to tell a story that’s much bigger than themselves.”

Safe water is essential for human life. Over 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source, and 5 million people die each year due to diarrheal disease as a result of unsafe drinking water, inadequate availability of water for hygiene, and lack of access to water for sanitation.

“This partnership will make many people’s lives change,” said Dr. Edward O’Bryan, Co-Founder and CMO of OneWorld Health.
